Photo Gallery - Training Day at Totara Park

One of RDA's popular volunteer training days was held at the
Totara Park Equestrian Centre on Thursday, 7 September, 2006.

The following photos show the volunteers - and the trainers - hard at work.

Thank You John McKillop (One of our volunteers) for doing the photos.

Cate makes a point about making sure the rider is secure...

Here she demonstrates how to put the bridle on.

Beverly getting set to lead Shorty.

And Jan is concentrating on what Cate is showing us.

Looks like Christine will need to wake Hamlet up...

Di leading Shay, to show us how it's done.

Sandra leading Shay.

Michelle leading Shorty.....

....followed by Sheryn and Bella.....

...and Pia and Hamlet....

....and Mary and Klyde.

Vivienne rewards Shay for walking on well.

Jan getting ready to ride off on Hamlet - who still looks half asleep...

Beverly on Bella, being led by Sheryn

Mary, Cilla and Klyde waiting for the call to "Walk on!"

Pia leads Shorty, with Stuart riding with his eyes closed.
This was a required part of the exercise so that the volunteers
could start to appreciate what many of
our riders experience while doing their RDA riding.

Janet looks pretty happy to be about to ride Klyde, led by Mary.

Judy about to get on a horse for only the second time in her life,
ably assisted by Cilla, Cate and Jan.

Yeeehah!!

Pia experiencing eyes closed riding, with Stuart leading Shorty.
